The ASHRAE Hawaii Chapter is pleased to welcome Joshua McDonough as Chapter Programs Chair. Joshua previously served in this role during the 2019–2020 chapter year and again from 2022–2025, bringing valuable experience and leadership to the position.
As Chapter Programs Chair, Joshua is committed to delivering engaging and relevant programs that provide value to members across the HVAC&R industry. His focus is centered on supporting John Fuller’s presidential initiative emphasizing sustainability, energy efficiency, and the advancement of innovative building solutions. Through thoughtfully planned technical sessions, networking opportunities, and educational programming, Joshua aims to continue fostering professional growth and industry collaboration within the Hawaii Chapter.

Mark your calendars, the 2016 Technical Seminar event is set! We have reserved The Plaza Club Honolulu 20th Floor for April, 14 2016. The seminar theme is Chiller Plant Efficiency and Energy Savings.
The seminar will be from 12:00 Pm until 7:30 pm in The Plaza Club Honolulu, 20th Floor. The technical seminar will be followed by a cocktail reception in The Plaza Club, which gives you the opportunity to mingle with the presenters, ASHRAE members, and guests.

Keynote Speaker: Steven Taylor, P.E., Taylor Engineering
"Chiller Plant Efficiency"
Steven Taylor will be presenting on Chiller Plant Efficiency for 2 sessions during the day. Steve Taylor is the principal of Taylor Engineering, Alameda, CA. He is a registered mechanical engineer specializing in HVAC system design, control system design, indoor air quality engineering, computerized building energy analysis, and HVAC system commissioning. Mr. Taylor graduated from Stanford University with a BS in Physics and a MS in Mechanical Engineering and has 40 years of commercial HVAC and control system design and construction experience. He was one of the primary authors of the HVAC sections of ASHRAE Standard 90.1 “Energy Conservation in New Non-residential Buildings”and California’s Title 24 Energy Standards and Ventilation Standards.

"Design Considerations for Cooling Towers"
Adam Radford will be presenting on design considerations for cooling towers. Adam is currently the Global Product Manager of Closed Circuit Cooling Towers, with a focus on Water & Energy Efficient Closed Circuit Cooling Towers and Controls. Adam earned a BSME from the University of Pittsburgh in 2007. Leading up to his current role, Adam has held multiple positions in EVAPCO’s HVAC Marketing Group, including the Open Cooling Tower and Replacement Market Divisions.
