The ASHRAE Hawaii Chapter is pleased to welcome Joshua McDonough as Chapter Programs Chair. Joshua previously served in this role during the 2019–2020 chapter year and again from 2022–2025, bringing valuable experience and leadership to the position.
As Chapter Programs Chair, Joshua is committed to delivering engaging and relevant programs that provide value to members across the HVAC&R industry. His focus is centered on supporting John Fuller’s presidential initiative emphasizing sustainability, energy efficiency, and the advancement of innovative building solutions. Through thoughtfully planned technical sessions, networking opportunities, and educational programming, Joshua aims to continue fostering professional growth and industry collaboration within the Hawaii Chapter.

ASHRAE Society President Mick Schwedler challenged every Chapter and Every member to “Feed the Roots”.
Hawaiʻi Chapter members have visualized what the impact is for introducing S.T.E.A.M. through ASHRAE for students of K-12 and of the College of Engineering Students at the University of Hawaiʻi (Young Engineers of ASHRAE, YEA), for years.
Whether it be mentoring robotics or judging at its tournaments, speaking in the classrooms or providing mentorship and even internships to our future S.T.E.A.M. Leaders, ASHRAE Hawaiʻi members keep feeding the S.T.E.A.M. and our ASHRAE Roots.
In this session, you will hear from the students of Kamehameha Schools about their accomplishments and hopefully feel that need to Feed their or other Young Roots.
