Topic: Do's and Don'ts of heat pipe technology applications

Heat pipe technology has been around for a while and applied successfully in several industries around the world. Uses of heat pipe range from oil pipe brace defrosters to electronics coolers on space shuttles and satellites. Heat pipe technology has entered the HVAC industry and demonstrated a great payback potential if applied appropriately. This presentation will go over the basics of heat pipe and how it works and then touch on some of the applications that could be beneficial for the local HVAC industry.

Understanding Psychrometrics and the ability to use Psychrometric Chart effectively is the key to becoming a successful HVAC professional. Therefore, ASHRAE Hawaii Chapter has decided to cover this important topic in the main presentation of its first monthly meeting. This presentation will go over the Psychrometric Chart and basic properties of air shown in the chart. Some interactive examples and exercises on simple air handling and reheat systems will be covered to engage the audience.
